Kristian Robson, proprietor of Oliver Brown, spent a glorious weekend boar hunting in the Bendorf on the Rhine region in Germany. It's a brilliant time of year over there for hunting both roe deer and boar - especially with such a stunning backdrop.

Kristian stayed at Sayn Castle, the imposing 12th century castle which was rebuilt just 20 years ago by the same family he travelled with. From the castle itself, you're rewarded with beautiful panoramic views across the Rhine valley.

And what did Kristian wear while out shooting? Given the particularly bracing November weather, (which didn't dampen the group's spirits!) it had to be tweed. Kristian chose the
Oliver Brown tweed shooting trousers, which are incredibly insulating, a
cashmere jumper and a
tweed gilet, giving an essential layer of extra warmth.

Finally, Kristian's top tip for shooting in cold weather: wear technical gloves! We highly recommend a well-made pair with plenty of grip and insulation. Take a look at our selection of
specialist shooting gloves - your everyday pairs just won't cut it while out in the field.
