Create an accountEditor’s Edit: What to Wear to Henley Royal Regatta with Lucy Cleland
27 Jun 2015
Lucy Cleland, editor of Country & Town House, lends the Oliver Brown blog her enviable style expertise as she gives us the rundown of how to dress for this year’s Henley Royal Regatta.
As Henley has no strict dress code as such – unless you're swanky enough to enter certain VIP areas – I think you can afford a certain amount of sartorial fun.

Colour: it's not something men naturally gravitate towards, but whiling away days by the river, with Pimm's or Champagne in hand, I think men should either opt for colourful trousers or a colourful blazer – and, damn it, a colourful linen suit if they have the personality to pull it off. Oliver Brown has a powder blue linen jacket and a pale apricot cotton jacket that would fit the bill. For the more daring, go shocking pink.

For traditionalists, you cannot fault cream and there are some lovely light cotton trousers which would go well with a navy, single breasted blazer. Or a cream suit with a pastel-coloured shirt is always delicious. You could always jazz it up with a fun cravat or tie.
For sun and style, every gentleman should also own a panama hat.
