Glorious Twelfth

  • Posted on

Yesterday was the ‘Glorious Twelfth’ - traditionally one of the busiest and most anticipated days of the shooting calendar because it marks the start of the shooting season for red grouse, and also kicks off the game season in Britain.

Oliver Brown Proprietor, Kristian Robson, travelled to the heather moorlands of Yorkshire with friends (and Oliver Brown customers!) and stayed at Constable Burton Hall.  Everyone double gunned and had a loader for the day and 110 brace were shot.

In true shoot day style, chicken pie was served for lunch

The guns were all Oliver Brown customers, with some more eager to show off their tweeds than others!

The final whistle blew, and just as the camera flash went off 30 or more grouse flew in a perfect line over the shooting party…

With massive thanks to Mr and Mrs Slater.
