In honour of one of the finest sporting events of the year - which is also peak strawberry season here in Britain - we thought we'd share our favourite strawberry recipes to enjoy alongside the tennis. Kristian's Eton Mess

Ingredients
500g British strawberries
1 tbsp sugar
4 meringue nests, roughly broken up
400ml double cream
Handful of chopped pistachio nuts
A few leaves of fresh mint
Method
Roughly chop the strawberries into halves.
Add the sugar to the cream, then whip until it forms soft peaks
Fold the strawberries into the cream
Crush the meringues into bite-size chunks, and mix with the strawberries and cream
Spoon the mixture into individual dishes
Top with a scattering of pistachios for added crunch and a sprig of mint

Balsamic vinegar is a wonderful way to reinvent strawberries - this is perfect as a simple dessert.
Ingredients
500g British strawberries
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Grind of fresh black pepper
A few leaves of fresh mint
Method
This one's easy! Simply toss the strawberries in the sugar and leave to stand for ten minutes
Mix in the balsamic vinegar
Add grind of black pepper and top with a sprig of mint
Serve immediately
