As Australia take on New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup Final, Paul, the editor of The Tweed Pig blog, lends the Oliver Brown blog his style expertise. Here's Paul's rundown of what to wear to final, if you're lucky enough to have tickets!
Tweed Quilted Jacket
I chose the British-made quilted jacket in tweed, because tweed gives a timeless look, as well as being tough and protective from the elements. Any self-respecting rugby fan needs to sport a flash of tweed. It's almost a legal requirement.
Heavyweight Corduroy Trousers
What can we say about cords? Cords are hard wearing and the right side of casual for the event. (Say no to tracksuits.) The cinnamon colour looks great with the tweed jacket and they have a good insulating thickness for the cold weather. The cord fabric is made by a traditional Yorkshire mill, as it should be.
Tattersall Check Shirt
A tattersall shirt is very versatile and works well with virtually any kind of weekend or country event. Perfect for the pub and a pre-match pint. I see a made in England label and I approve.
Cable Knit Crew Neck Jumper
If you are not wearing a tie with the tattersall shirt, look smart with a crew neck jumper. The crew neck chosen here is a classic in lambswool from Scotland and perfect to go with the other items.
