The Spring Footwear Style Guide
28 Mar 2016
With lighter evenings and slightly warmer days making an appearance (although we can't seem to shake those April showers!) it finally feels like spring. 'Out with the old, in with the new' is a cliched notion, but it's the perfect time to get organised and give your look a little rethink. One key way to update your spring style is with more seasonal footwear, so take a look at our edit of the most spring-like shoes on offer here at Oliver Brown. Lace detail suede driving shoes First up, driving shoes. These casual suede styles are especially soft, lightweight and comfortable. As the name suggests, they're perfect for driving thanks to the rubber grip of the sole and flexibility. However that needn't restrict you as they're perfect for any casual event paired with denim or chinos. We love the red pair for making a spring statement, but traditionalists can't go wrong with classic navy. Suede driving shoes With stitch detailing and beautifully soft suede outers, we love the simplicity of these driving shoes. Choose a neutral colour such as dove grey or tan to go with pretty much every style of trousers - so long as they're casual, as driving shoes worn with suits should be restricted to driving only! Heavy duty deck shoes Deck shoes - by their very nature - are especially suited to more changeable weather. They're perfect for rainy spring days teamed with jeans, chinos or moleskin trousers. This particular style is built to be robust with especially heavy rubber grip soles and waxy leather uppers. Traditional deck shoes Traditional deck shoes really are the most versatile spring shoes. In fact, they look just as good paired with shorts (the trickiest of spring/summer items when it comes to styling!) as they do with chinos or jeans. We love the contrast white soles and stitching.
