Why Go Bespoke?

The Oliver Brown tailor, JC, measuring for a bespoke suit   Bespoke tailoring is a time-honoured, unique process for those serious about their sartorial style. In today's culture of instant gratification, the six weeks or so that it takes our tailor to create the ultimate hand-crafted suit is satisfyingly old-school. After all, good things come to those who wait...   Unique fit Your bespoke experience begins with an appointment with our in-house tailor, who'll take over 20 measurements to ensure your suit fits and flatters in all the right places. He'll take your unique stature, balance and stance into consideration, alongside details such as the curve of your back and the position of your arms, in order to obtain a thorough blueprint of your physique. This means the resulting suit is perfect for you and you alone.   Unique style Part of the fun of owning a bespoke suit is knowing that every little detail has been chosen by you: the weight, pattern and colour of the cloth; the lining; the number of buttons; the collar style and everything in between. Of course, if that much choice seems a little daunting, our tailor is more than happy to guide you through this process and make recommendations.   Unique attention to detail Initially, your suit will be assembled with basting stitches, and during the first fitting the tailor will assess the balance and the pitch of the sleeves. Over a further one or two fittings the suit will be refined, perfected and fully canvased with layers of canvas that are hand-stitched to fit the contours of your body. Finally the suit will be finished with hand-stitching along all the edges and the button-holes will be hand-crafted with silk thread.   Those are our top three reasons for going bespoke, but above all else, a personalised suit just looks (and feels) incredible. Why not book an appointment with our tailor today and see for yourself or take a look at our tailoring collection for style inspiration.
