We specialise in top hats, offering a substantial collection of beautiful antiques and contemporary alternatives. This top hat is made from melusine, a special long-haired fur felt that is the closest alternative to the silk originals.
The hat has a beautifully polished finish and a noticeably elegant profile, standing at 5 1/2" tall. Finished with a grosgrain ribbon band and white satin lining.

Top Hats - A History
From the late 1700s and through the 1800s top hats were ubiquitous, with gentlemen of all classes wearing them. But during the early 20th century, with increasingly informal attire, top hats gradually became saved for more formal occasions. This tends to be the case today -
although in recent years the top hat has enjoyed a resurgence. Now, more than ever, modern gentleman regularly sport them for occasions such as the Derby, Royal Ascot, formal weddings and garden parties.
