Made to Measure Manager
The first time you meet Sachchi, you’re likely to find him buzzing around the bespoke area of Oliver Brown's Chelsea store, wearing an immaculately tailored suit — often paired with a roll-neck jumper — and sporting perfectly combed hair.
He joined the Oliver Brown team back in March of 2022 to head up the Made to Measure (MTM) department, bringing with him experience from his time at Suitsupply where he was managing MTM at their three London stores, helping to grow the brand and its custom tailored offering.
Although inspired by seeing his grandfather in impeccably tailored suits, tailoring wasn’t the first avenue that Sachchi was drawn to as a career. He completed a BA in Interior & Spatial Architecture followed by an MA in Urban Planning; it was only after walking along Savile Row one day and peering down into a workshop below, that his passion for tailoring was reignited.
His extensive experience in MTM is bolstered by his exploration of bespoke tailoring, having spent time in and around Savile Row; working for a time at both Chittleborough & Morgan and Kent, Haste & Lachter. While at Kent Haste, Sachchi assisted John Kent in fitting the late Duke of Edinburgh (HRH Prince Phillip). He helped to introduce MTM to the company and it’s that experience that Sachchi uses to shape what Made to Measure at Oliver Brown looks like.
It's in the fitting room that you’ll see him really come alive, working to understand the nuances of each customers body shape and how they like to wear a suit. No two bodies are the same and he says it’s this that keeps the job interesting for him.
Being of Sri Lankan heritage and having a deep reverence for the culture, Sachchi spends time away from work exploring personal spirituality and has interest in the decoding of the Indus Valley Script and dead languages. Knowledgeable about a broad range of topics and fluent in almost seven languages, he has a great relationship with his customers and nothing fills him with more pride than seeing them slip on a well-fitting jacket for the first time.
Being a huge animal lover, Sachchi would love to go on a Tiger watching expedition in India and one day looks to own a country house in the Cotswolds accompanied by a pet cow and a beautiful Cavalier Spaniel, along with his two cats.
